Dr. Michael Duong has been helping patients see clearly and comfortably for more than 15 years. He is one of few optometrists recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and the Scleral Lens Society (FSLS), reflecting his advanced training in ocular disease and complex contact lenses.

He also holds the International Academy Certification in Myopia Management (IACMM) from the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, highlighting his expertise in helping children and adults slow the progression of nearsightedness.
At the Optometric Center and Eyewear Galleria in San Ramon, Dr. Duong leads The Myopia Management and Dry Eye Center of Excellence, where he and his team provide compassionate, personalized care using the latest technology to protect and enhance your vision.

​​​​​Dr. Lang was born and raised in the Bay Area. He completed a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis on exercise science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Dr. Lang then returned to the Bay Area to earn his Doctorate of Optometry with academic honors from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry.

Dr. Lang completed externship rotations at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Miami, FL, Marin Community Clinic in Novato, CA, Eastmont Wellness Center in Oakland, CA, and Front Range Eye Associates in Broomfield, CO. His training included an emphasis in ocular disease, dry eye, and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Lang is licensed by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the California State Board of Optometry to practice optometry at the highest level, which includes the use of therapeutic agents to treat glaucoma. He is a firm believer in advocacy for the optometric profession and is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the California Optometric Association (COA).

Dr. Lang is certified to fit Corneal Reshaping (CRT) contact lenses, Misight lenses, and use atropine eye drops for myopia (nearsightedness) control. He is passionate about the use of these techniques to slow down the progression of myopia in children and adolescents to promote better long-term eye health and less dependency on corrective lenses. In his free time, Dr. Lang enjoys watching the Bay Area sports teams, playing golf, participating in church events, and spending time with his family.
