Our Doctor

Dr. Duong received his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry at San Jose State University. He then attended Pennsylvania College of Optometry and received his Doctor of Optometry in 2009.

Dr. Duong’s rotations include The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA, Veteran’s Affair Hospital in Palo Alto, CA, and Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital in Sacaton, AZ. He is trained at the highest level and certified to treat glaucoma. Dr. Duong provides primary eye care with a special interest in specialty contact lens fittings for hard to fit corneas. As a member of the American Optometric Association (Contact Lens and Cornea Section), Dr. Duong has published articles reviewing current trends in contact lens care and technology. He is certified to fit corneal reshaping (Ortho-K) lenses for myopia control.

Dr. Duong believes in providing the best care for his patients and holds the following licenses:

The letters “FAAO” (Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry) after an optometrist’s, scientist’s, or other professional’s name signify to colleagues and patients that rigorous qualifications for fellowship have been met. He is also an FSLS (Fellow of the Scleral Lens Society) and qualified to fit scleral contact lenses for eye conditions that affect the cornea (i.e. keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, dry eyes, post-LASIK, post-RK, and many more conditions).

His outside interests include spending time with his family, hiking, and following bay area sports.

Dr. Duong’s trip to Haiti in 2012

Dr. Duong’s passion lies in helping others. He was a part of medical mission trips to Guatemala and Haiti in 2012 to provide eye care to thousands of people, including children. Below are photos of his most recent trip to Haiti.

​​​​​Dr. Lang was born and raised in the Bay Area. He completed a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis on exercise science at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Dr. Lang then returned to the Bay Area to earn his Doctorate of Optometry with academic honors from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry.

Dr. Lang completed externship rotations at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in Miami, FL, Marin Community Clinic in Novato, CA, Eastmont Wellness Center in Oakland, CA, and Front Range Eye Associates in Broomfield, CO. His training included an emphasis in ocular disease, dry eye, and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Lang is licensed by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the California State Board of Optometry to practice optometry at the highest level, which includes the use of therapeutic agents to treat glaucoma. He is a firm believer in advocacy for the optometric profession and is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the California Optometric Association (COA).

Dr. Lang is certified to fit Corneal Reshaping (CRT) contact lenses, Misight lenses, and use atropine eye drops for myopia (nearsightedness) control. He is passionate about the use of these techniques to slow down the progression of myopia in children and adolescents to promote better long-term eye health and less dependency on corrective lenses. In his free time, Dr. Lang enjoys watching the Bay Area sports teams, playing golf, participating in church events, and spending time with his family.
